| Our History In 1946, H.E. Smith took his army mustering-out pay and started a family tradition of drilling water wells and installing water pumps as the H.E. Smith Well Drilling Company. In 1966 Smith sold half the business to Donald, and formed a partnership of H.E. Smith and Son Drilling Company. The company was incorporated in 1972 as Smith Well and Supply, Inc. The following year, Donald Smith bought the remaining 50 percent of the business and seven years later, the company changed its name to the present title.
Today, a leader in well drilling and pump installation and repair. Now, with three locations, Donald Smith Company repairs and remanufactures turbine pumps in its own shops. Some of the tools range from modern job cost programs that end the guesswork and reward those employees doing a good job, to electric log machines that test the potential for water bearing zones. The company even has video capability to study from the top to the bottom of a well. |
